Our ABSN program offers you:
- Three start dates per year — January, May and September — through our hybrid delivery option. On-Campus program starts each May.
- Nursing theory coursework how you prefer to learn: Online or On-Campus.
- State-of-the-art nursing simulation labs equipped with computer-powered manikins.
- Clinical rotations at some of Baltimore’s world-renowned healthcare facilities.

There’s no better time than now to change paths toward a career in nursing, and there’s no better place to make it happen than with Notre Dame of Maryland University’s Accelerated Second-Degree Bachelor of Science In Nursing (ABSN) program in the Baltimore area. Offering hybrid (online-based) or on-campus delivery options, it allows qualified students with bachelor’s degrees in non-nursing fields the opportunity to work toward a rewarding new career as a nurse in as few as 15 months.

ABSN Learning Sites in Maryland
Notre Dame hybrid (online-based) ABSN students participate in nursing skills and simulation labs multiple days each week at our program site in Elkridge.
Students enrolled in the on-campus ABSN program will go to the Center for Caring with Technology, located in Baltimore.

Admissions Requirements
Our 15-month ABSN program with three start dates per year is a great option for motivated individuals looking for an accelerated education option to transition into nursing. In order for that to happen, though, you must first meet the qualifications necessary to apply to our program.
To become eligible to enroll in our ABSN program, you must:
- Hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree.
- Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4-point scale).
- Successfully complete any remaining required prerequisite courses (22 credit hours).
